- Client List
Living at a neighbouring property, I personally looked on as the perfect boathouse appeared to fall into dis-repair. Being ask to restore it to its former glory was a privaledge, and coupled with the most discerning client, a complete joy.
Properties on the water lend themselves to unique treatment. The original detailing, ship lap and timber floors were left intact as far as possible and enhanced with soft grey timbers, shutters and linen. Along with the architect we extended the two exisitng bijoux bedrooms with small toilet into two bedrooms, one shower room and bathroom suite. The original “dayroom” was kept as the main lounge with warming stove and balcony above the wet dock and the superb extension was characteristically recreated to house the kitchen and dining area above a wet storage area.
The Boathouse was simply, but elegantly dressed with Anta rug, Mulberry and Pierre Frey fabrics and Vincent Sheppard Lloyd Loom. Lighting and ornaments in Windermere style meets New England vernacular. Artwork by local artist Libby Edmundson.
